The Minnesota Rules of Criminal Procedure govern the procedure in prosecutions for felonies, gross misdemeanors, misdemeanors, and petty misdemeanors in the district courts in the State of Minnesota.

The Minnesota Rules of Criminal Procedure are effective January 1, 1990, with amendments effective through March 1, 2006, and are provided by the Minnesota Supreme Court Commissioner’s Office.

Legal Landing tries to keep these rules as up-to-date as possible, however, as new rules are enacted by the federal and/or state authority, it is possible that the rules provided on this website may no longer be good law. You can access the most up-to-date version of the Minnesota Rules of Civil Procedure at the Minnesota Courts' website.
